Special events like weddings call for standout looks, so it’s only natural that everyone in attendance, from the bride and members of the bridal party down to the very last guest, will want to look their absolute best. Preparations usually start with picking out a stunning outfit for the occasion. As a bride, in particular, it’s generally recommended to begin the search for the ideal wedding gown nine to twelve months in advance.

The process can be extremely lengthy and complicated since there are so many wonderful dress styles to explore, from classic A-line silhouettes to dramatic ball gowns or elegant mermaid cuts.

The options for bridesmaid dresses are just as varied, and wedding guests are equally spoilt for choice. While their wedding outfits might not require the same amount of thought and effort, they too have to invest time and money into finding beautiful dresses that suit their figures and match the event’s dress code or theme.

While clothes may do most of the heavy lifting when it comes to enhancing your overall appearance, it’s the finer details that make the difference. And nothing complements an outfit better than healthy, naturally radiant skin.

So, if you want to achieve the best skin ever and get that glow-from-within look, you might want to step up your skincare and wellness game a notch, and we’re going to show you exactly how to do it.

Consult with your dermatologist

Most of us have been down the DIY beauty hacks road at one point in our lives, trying out different homemade ointments, masks, and other solutions that promised to work miracles for our skin. And most of us have been disappointed with the results.

Since it’s 2025, not the Middle Ages, it might be time to stop playing cosmetic chemist at home and follow the science instead. Using common household ingredients like honey, apple cider vinegar, or avocado to create your own skincare products might seem fun at first, but these blends are often ineffective or may cause irritations and infections that can seriously damage your skin.

A much safer and smarter approach is to talk to a board-certified dermatologist about your needs, concerns, and goals. A qualified medical professional will know what products and treatments to recommend to get the best results. This is especially important if you suffer from certain medical conditions like atopic dermatitis, rosacea, or acne that require special care.

Use quality skincare products

Speaking of products, you don’t want to risk your skin’s health by using all sorts of random products, just because they have great marketing and a tempting price point.

You need to be smart when shopping for skincare, especially with the multitude of brands and offers available nowadays, so doing your research is extremely important. Read the labels carefully, know what each product is supposed to do, and apply them in the right order. Introduce new products one at a time, and do a patch test first to avoid potential reactions.

You don’t need to invest a ton of money into high-end products to see results, but you have to prioritize quality over quantity and hype. As a sidenote, play it safe and refrain from incorporating new products into your routine too close to the event, since you don’t want to take any unnecessary risks.

Be consistent

Consistency is key in skincare. It takes time for products to work, so the effects won’t be immediate. Regularly applying the right ingredients is what will get you the best results. That’s why you need to create a solid skincare routine tailored to your specific requirements and stick to it like your life depended on it.

Never skip sunscreen, even if you’re in a rush, and don’t forget to remove your makeup at night, no matter how tired you are (busy days and late nights are no excuse). Treat your skin right and it will thank you with a radiant glow. Facial treatments and procedures can also improve your skin’s health and appearance. Again, you should consult with your dermatologist in this regard.

Stay hydrated

All the topical hyaluronic acid serums in the world won’t make much of a difference if your body is parched. After all, the human body is 70% water on average, so hydration must also come from within for your cells and organs, including your skin, to work properly.

You can easily up your water intake by keeping a big glass of water next to your bed and taking a reusable water bottle with you wherever you go. You can also make drinking water more enjoyable by adding lemon slices for a fresh flavor.

Maintain a healthy diet

What you put in your body reflects on your skin. At least, that’s how things work for most of us mortals. Indeed, there’s a certain percentage of the population, also known as God’s favorites, that could eat junk food from dusk till dawn and still have the smoothest baby-like skin, but if you’re not among those who won the genetic lottery, you have to be careful about what you eat.

This doesn’t necessarily mean you have to follow a very strict diet and avoid unhealthy treats like the plague. It’s enough to try to eat balanced meals, focusing on whole, minimally processed foods that are rich in nutrients, and eat at regular hours as much as possible. This will definitely benefit your overall health and your looks.

Get enough sleep

Beauty sleep is no myth; it’s a must. Your body needs deep rest (8 hours of quality sleep per night on average) to recover and function properly. Your skin also repairs and regenerates itself more intensely during nighttime. That’s why when you’re tired and sleep deprived, your skin is the first to show it through symptoms like dullness, dehydration, dark circles, puffiness, or breakouts.

Lastly, make time for relaxation. You can’t shine from within when stress is weighing you down, so look for ways to unwind and prioritize your mental health. When you feel good on the inside, it shows on the outside. Your skin glows, your energy shifts, and suddenly, any outfit you choose to wear looks even better.
